Arnold Arboretum Collection of Native American Artifacts.

The collection of Native American artifact materials includes, in addition to the stone artifacts, inventories of artifact disposition, data-identification sheets of the artifacts, correspondence in the years 1948-1992, maps, and reports. The stone artifacts have been identified as originating in several eras from the Middle Archaic (ca. 6000-4500 B.C.) through the Late Woodland (ca. 700-1600 A.D.). The artifacts have been associated with tools and implements characteristic of Native American settlements in those eras.
